The nonpartisan nonprofit Partnership for Public Service says federal science agencies have lost more than a hundred-thousand workers since the start of 2025 and federal grants for scientific research are down twenty-four percent. The organization says that means fewer food inspectors, slower cancer research and decreased economic output.
