Spot The Bot

Posted

It’s time for Spot the Bot, where we aim to protect you and your money from criminals. Let’s meet our contestant. Terri Tolliver is the P-I-R for the Postal Inspection Service. This category pits your intelligence against the artificial kind.

Huh, good luck with that.

A-I is helping criminals create scams and schemes. Can you spot the A-I picture? B.

Seriously, here are a few tell-tale signs. Look at the background, the extra finger on the hand, and the scale of the truck. This image may appear on an official-looking flyer, in an e-mail, or on a poster with a Q-R code. It’s called an impostor scam, designed to steal your personal information and ultimately your money.

Next round, name three ways to protect yourself. Don’t click on any links or scan Q-R codes sent in a text or e-mail. Correct. Use a verified number or e-mail to contact the organization that’s reaching out to you. That’s right. And never give out personal information in a text or e-mail. Correct. Those tips won you the maximum jackpot.
