The American Association for Cancer Research has released its fifteenth annual Cancer Progress Report highlighting the lifesaving impact of federal funding for cancer research.
According to the A-A-C-R’s report, the U-S cancer death rate has dropped thirty-four percent since 1991. In the past year alone, the F-D-A approved twenty new cancer drugs and various new devices for the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
The report also calls on Congress to boost research funding to ensure that new discoveries continue saving lives.
