GPO increases public awareness with Successful Campaign: A Feature News Release Case Study


The U.S. GOVERNMENT PUBLISHING OFFICE (GPO) is the official, digital and secure source for producing, protecting, preserving and distributing the official publications and information products of the Federal Government.


Raise awareness on a key component of GPO's mission, the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). This program allows the public to get federal government documents for free, both current and historical. In that vein, the GPO worked with NAPS on a release letting the American public know about the program and where they can find these government documents, both current and historical.

This feature got 980 known placements, including 71 in print. This appeared in all 50 states, with a readership of 11.7 million and on sites with 70 million unique visitors cumulatively. About 46% of placements were in the top 50 markets, 57% were in the most populous third of the states and 39% were in the wealthiest 25% of states. The article was viewed 862 times on our site.
